We live in a beautiful, created, thriving world and we care about its future. That’s why we’re constantly looking for ways to improve how we work so that we can minimise our environmental impact. Here’s a little insight into how we are doing this.
The leather we source to create all of our goods comes from European Bulls - the skins do not come from animals that have grazed on deforested land. By choosing to use authentic leather, which is a byproduct of the meat industry, we avoid the production of alternative leathers that are often made from plastics like PVC and polyurethane. Authentic leather is extremely durable, beautiful, and smells amazing too!
We work with a local paper printing business who source our paper from Fedrigoni, a company that pays close attention to sustainability and respect for the environment. This begins with how their raw materials are sourced, right through to their range of papers that bear the FSC® Chain of Custody certification.
We want to avoid single use plastics wherever we can which is why you won't find any of it in our packaging! Many of the materials we source arrive to us in cardboard boxes - we don’t want these to go to waste. All of the shredded padding you’ll find in our packaging comes from this cardboard which we shred ourselves. Not only does this help to keep your goods safe in transit, but it helps us cut down on our own waste too!
All of the goods that we create here at Lucas Ruth are made by hand by us. Due to the custom nature of our products, each item has a lead time of 1-3working days before they are shipped.
Our standard shipping method for all UK orders is Royal Mail 2nd Class which arrives within 1-3 working days afterdispatch.
Free delivery is available for all UK orders over £40.
Orders to the USA are carried through FedEx who aim to deliver within 1-3 working days after dispatch.
All other international orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked with the following delivery times: Europe: 3-5 days Worldwide: 5-7 days
The genuine leather that we use to create our products is a natural material made from wild animals and is therefore subject to change from hide to hide. Signs of wear, stretch marks and other characteristics are normal when working with leather. Small scratches, blemishes, or dents may be visible on the product, which come from the experiences of the animal. We believe that these characteristics give our products character and add to their appeal. Our products are crafted and handled with care, and each hide is hand selected for quality and character.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on personalised items.
Items without personalisation can be returned within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 14 days.
